In a lively part of town
Where things happen: restaurants, shops, people.
Bardstown Road sits right outside the entrance, lined with indie boutiques and eclectic neighborhood restaurants.
The rooms
Rooms are styled with vintage furnishings and local Louisville art. Select spaces add deep soaking tubs set beneath botanical murals.
At the table
Bistro M. Peppers serves French classics with Southern touches across curved burgundy banquettes. Globe pendant lights illuminate the cocktail bar.
Located in the Highlands area of town, The Bellwether is a small, thoughtfully designed self-check-in hotel occupying historic buildings that once housed a police station, the Bell South switchboard station, and the local ballet.
How it began

Two neighborhood couples revived the buildings, which once housed a 1917 telephone exchange and the Louisville Ballet.
