Michelin Selected
Michelin
On Merrion Street, in the heart of Dublin's Georgian quarter, a 17th-century neoclassical building with columns, carved stonework and a grand dome.
Right in the middle
Well-located: walkable to some things, a short ride to more.
Facing Joyce's historic Sweny's Pharmacy, the hotel sits steps from Merrion Square and Oscar Wilde's childhood home.
The rooms
Bathrooms are lined in marble with walk-in rainforest showers. Upper-floor rooms look out over Dublin's Georgian rooftops.
The pool
Bring a swimsuit.
Arched wall panels and curved loungers line the 12.5-metre basement pool, illuminated by warm cove lighting.
The thermal suite
Aspen timber lines the Himalayan salt sauna, and the mosaic steam cabin is lit by fibre-optic starlight.
The Lady Jane Restaurant
Sculptural golden trees stand throughout the dining room, where daily breakfast buffets include pastries and hot morning classics.
Bar
The 1863 Lounge
Cognac leather stools line the blue-panelled bar, which serves Irish whiskeys and a European all-day menu.
How it began

Merrion Hall opened in 1863 for the Plymouth Brethren. A 1991 fire gutted the building, leaving only the neoclassical facade.
