It’s the setting for the purpose-built contemporary building that’s home to the Edwin. There’s art everywhere, including inside the modern-classic loft-style rooms, and the hotel is a social destination unto itself.
Right in the middle
Well-located: walkable to some things, a short ride to more.
The Bluff View Art District surrounds the property, and the pedestrian Walnut Street Bridge leads directly across to North Shore.
The rooms
Loft-style rooms have custom MurMaid mattresses and Frette linens. River-facing suites add turntables with records borrowed from the hotel library.
The spa and pool
Bring a swimsuit.
Ama Spa bases its treatments on Cherokee rituals, and a heated rooftop plunge pool looks across the skyline.
Bar
Whiskey Thief
Over 100 regional whiskeys line the illuminated back bar, and tufted leather banquettes look out over the river.
The Edwin Hotel, is a property imbued with local flavor from its art collection which includes the work of Chattanooga-area muralists, sculptors, and crafters such as Monica Smith and Cydney Parks.
At the table
Whitebird cooks with regional farm produce from breakfast through dinner, and Provisions pours artisan coffee in the lobby.
How it began

Its name honors Edwin Thacher, the civil engineer who designed the adjacent Walnut Street Bridge in 1890.
