What it’s good at
What they say
Michelin Selected
Michelin
This is a design-oriented boutique, through and through, designed by the French architect Jean Nouvel around a simple organizing concept: each room’s ceiling is decorated with an enlargement of a film still.
Right in the middle
Well-located: walkable to some things, a short ride to more.
The front doors face Vögeligärtli park, with Lake Lucerne and the main train station just a short stroll away.
The rooms
Large windows look out across the park, and the four penthouse suites open onto private rooftop terraces.
At the table
Breakfast is served in The Lounge, and evenings bring drinks around the illuminated bar counter and orange velvet armchairs.
How it began

Local hotelier Urs Karli bought the 1907 property, hiring architect Jean Nouvel to transform the former schoolhouse in 2000.
