The house
The HoxtonSeventies brutalist tower
The brutalist tower trades corporate formality for seventies nostalgia, running on laptop culture by day and rooftop DJ sets at night.
What it’s good at
Notable
Raw brutalist concrete pillars set against velvet seating and seventies pastel bathrooms.
What they say
Michelin Selected
Michelin
The brutalist building, which is next to the Botanical Garden, was once the European HQ of IBM but now it’s a veritable fun palace.
Right in the middle
Well-located: walkable to some things, a short ride to more.
The Botanical Garden and Le Botanique concert halls sit next door, with the historic city center a fifteen-minute walk south.
The rooms
Bedrooms occupy the tower's upper floors, setting exposed concrete against striped headboards and retro pink bathroom fixtures.
Restaurant
Cantina Valentina
The ground-floor dining room and outdoor terrace serve regional Peruvian dishes from Lima to Cusco.
At the table
Tope serves tacos and cocktails from the 22nd floor overlooking the skyline. Downstairs, the lobby bar pours evening drinks.
How it began

Built in 1978 as European headquarters for IBM, the brutalist tower was stripped to its raw concrete frame by architecture studio 51N4E.
