What they say
One Michelin Key
Michelin
Bill Bensley designed The Orient Jakarta as a narrative about the ancient East, filling it with regional antiques, indigenous materials, and commissioned artisan work.
Right in the middle
Well-located: walkable to some things, a short ride to more.
Set along busy Jalan Sudirman in Bendungan Hilir, the tower sits steps from the MRT station, one stop from the central business district.
The rooms
Hand-painted doors and pop-art batik wallpaper frame skyline views, while Grand Deluxe rooms feature standalone soaking tubs beside floor-to-ceiling glass.
The pools
Bring a swimsuit.
Sculpted water spouts feed the fifth-floor hydrotherapy pool, and a second pool sits open to the rooftop skyline.
The spa
Dual treatment suites finished in warm timber host massage therapies, facials, and full-body scrubs.
At the table
Caspar hosts Spanish tapas dinners with live DJ sets, and Café Cali serves cocktails under white rooftop arches.
How it began

Designer Bill Bensley layered antique Dutch mailboxes and regional artifacts inside a dark, brutalist tower conceived by Indonesian architect Andra Matin.
