Industrial boatyard lodge
This dockside lodge embraces Stock Island's working harbor, trading downtown bustle for views of boat slips and open water.
“The Perry’s modern, industrial aesthetic fetaures clean lines, raw concrete, and steel and is inspired by the island’s boatyards.”
What it’s good at
What they say
Michelin Selected
Michelin
Also in AFAR.
The Perry Hotel was recognized right out of the gate as one of Architectural Digest’s best-designed new hotels, and while they’re certainly not wrong about that, the architecture and design are only part of what makes the Perry special.
Somewhere quiet
Away from the crowds. Getting around takes intention.
Working shrimp docks and open artist studios share Stock Island, five miles east of the crowds on Duval Street.
The rooms
Every room opens onto a private balcony facing the marina or mangroves, cooled inside by wooden ceiling fans.
The pool
Bring a swimsuit.
Wooden loungers and tall palms line the deck, looking straight across the water toward the boat slips.
Restaurant
Matt’s Stock Island Kitchen & Bar
The kitchen turns out boat-to-table seafood and Cuban coffee, and patio tables look across the marina.
At the table
The Salty Oyster pours tropical drinks at an open-air bar along the docks, where local musicians play on weekends.
How it began

The hotel takes its name from Commodore Matthew Perry, who claimed the Florida Keys for the United States in 1822.
