Quirky retro-modern interiors pair bold wallpapers and slate hues with high ceilings and freestanding roll-top baths.

Hands-on hospitality includes drawing-room check-in, evening turndown, valet parking, and around-the-clock room delivery of bespoke drinks.

Heritage

Four Grade II listed 1770 Georgian townhouses by John Wood the Younger preserve original fireplaces and ornate plasterwork.

Central

In Bath's Upper Town on Russell Street, steps from The Circus and the Royal Crescent.

Our shorthand ↗
“you are greeted by brooding lighting, oxblood and slate gray colored walls, abstract impressionist canvases and odd assemblages of succulent flowers…”
— Condé Nast Traveler

Rooms

Individually styled bedrooms pair vibrant wallpapers and tall sash windows with Vi-Spring beds and freestanding roll-top tubs in select rooms.

Backstory

Built in 1770 for the Marquess of Queensberry, four adjoining townhouses were united in 1987 to form this independent boutique hotel.

Eat & drink

In the basement, Michelin-starred Olive Tree serves seasonal multi-course tasting menus, while the Old Q Bar mixes craft cocktails upstairs.

The neighborhood

Tucked along residential Russell Street, the townhouses sit moments on foot from the stately curves of the Royal Crescent and The Circus.

Architecture and interiors lead. There’s a creative vision at work.

Rooted in place. Local character runs through the whole stay.

A building with history. The story of the place is part of the stay.

Wellness

Built around feeling better. Rest, sweat, soak, spa.

A hotel the city grew up with. Same rituals, same regulars.

Resort

A world of its own. No reason to leave the property.

Scene — what’s outside the door

Lively

Where things happen: restaurants, shops, people.

Central

Well-located: walkable to some things, a short ride to more.

Quiet

Away from the crowds. Getting around takes intention.

Secluded

A place apart: the property is the destination.
