the Quoin, a Romanesque bank building in the historic downtown center, now renovated ... into a warm, livable, and richly detailed boutique hotel.

The rooms
Top-floor rooms follow the roofline with cove-arched windows, and every layout has botanical wallpaper and vintage rugs.
Bar
Simmer Down
The subterranean lounge occupies the former money room, mixing craft cocktails beneath original brick barrel vaults and hand-painted murals.
Set in a historic brownstone designed by renowned Victorian-era architect Frank Furness, the stylish 24-room property is home to a warm neighborhood restaurant, a moody cocktail lounge, and the city’s first rooftop bar.
The Quoin Restaurant
Tufted velvet banquettes fill the ground-floor dining room, where the kitchen turns out wood-fired Northern Italian fare and handmade pasta.
At the table
The lobby cafe pours morning espresso beside a wood-paneled bar, and the penthouse rooftop serves cocktails overlooking Old Town Hall.
How it began

The hotel takes its name from the Old French word for corner, honoring its angled facade and the coins once stored inside.
“Shaker-inspired furnishings and bold floral wallpapers liven up the interiors of the stately 1885 Romanesque bank building in Wilmington that now houses Delaware’s coolest hotel, the Quoin.”
