What they say
Also in Condé Nast Traveler.
It was actually on the beach, so they could hold at least one wedding event in the sand; the architecture and landscaping had more traditional Indian charm, while many other properties were cool and modern; and there were lotuses throughout.
Tucked away
A place apart: the property is the destination.
Mobor Beach sits right outside, set along the quiet southern coast where the Sal River meets the Arabian Sea.

The rooms
Balconies and verandas look out across the lagoons or lawns, while select signature villas have private plunge pools.
The pools
Bring a swimsuit.
The main pool curves past palms and sun loungers, joined by a children's pool with arching water jets.
The spa and gym
Ayurvedic treatments use Kashmiri saffron and herbal poultices, and the fitness centre looks out across the gardens.
At the table
Susegado grills fresh seafood along the sand, and The Drawing Room mixes cocktails seasoned with Goan recheado masala.
How it began

Architect Tom Pugliaso designed the original 1991 estate, blending Vijayanagara palace styling with traditional Goan architecture.
