What they say
Michelin Selected
Michelin
its proprietors’ first career was in the whisky business — no fewer than 500 varieties line the bar’s shelves — but they’re naturals at hospitality as well
Somewhere quiet
Away from the crowds. Getting around takes intention.
Working distilleries pepper the surrounding streets of Rothes, and salmon beats along the River Spey sit minutes away on foot.
The rooms
Hypnos beds furnish the bedrooms, and bathrooms have deep tubs. Selected suites set their baths on private mezzanine levels.
Restaurant
Toot's Café Bar & Bistro
Archival photos of distillery coppersmiths hang above leather booths, beside a custom copper sink for splashing water into drams.
At the table
Illuminated cabinets at The Spirit Safe hold rare single malts, poured beside miniature stills crafted by village coppersmiths.
How it began

Built in 1901 for River Spey salmon anglers, the building sat shuttered for a decade until local coppersmiths restored it in 2016.
