What they say
Michelin Selected
Michelin
It’s set in the village of Kilmessan, in the Boyne Valley, less than an hour to the northwest of Dublin, making it as viable for a quick city weekend as for an extended visit.
Somewhere quiet
Away from the crowds. Getting around takes intention.
Kilmessan village sits right outside the gates, and the ancient earthworks of the Hill of Tara are a short drive away.
The rooms
Carriage House cabins occupy the former locomotive workshop, while the Signal Suite takes over the original two-storey signal cabin.
Restaurant
The Platform Bar & Brasserie
Deep armchairs fill the bar lounge indoors, and parasols shade garden tables overlooking the former railbed.
At the table
White-clothed tables sit beneath broad archways in the Signal Restaurant, and afternoon tea brings homemade scones with garden preserves.
How it began

Chris and Thelma Slattery bought the decommissioned station in 1981 as a home for their five children, opening to guests two years later.
