What they say
Michelin Selected

Also in Condé Nast Traveler.
Behind that ’70s exterior is a very modern, very sleek luxury hotel — though the Westin isn’t located in the old town, this is still the Leipzig of Wagner, Bach or Mendelssohn.
Right in the middle
Well-located: walkable to some things, a short ride to more.
Leipzig Hauptbahnhof sits just across the road. The historic market square and the opera house are a short walk south.
The rooms
Crisp, minimal rooms keep to neutral tones, with upper floors looking straight out over the Leipzig skyline.
The indoor pool
Bring a swimsuit.
Slatted timber walls and glowing blue panels surround the heated fourth-floor basin, bordered by cushioned loungers.
The spa and gym
Two saunas and infrared cabins sit beside treatment rooms, and the fitness studio holds rows of cardio machines.
Restaurant Brühl
Breakfast buffets fill the ground-floor dining room, set with dark tables and illuminated glass panels.
At the table
Falco Bar pours from over 900 wine labels on the twenty-seventh floor, and Shinto mixes drinks in the lobby.
How it began

East Germany hired Japanese firms to build the 1981 tower, creating a dedicated hard-currency hotel for international trade-fair visitors.
