The Woodhouse Lodge
Shaker-inspired A-frame lodge
Shaker-inspired A-frame lodge
The restored A-frame runs like an informal upstate home, where guests drift between an open fireside lounge and lawn fire pits.
What it’s good at
Notable
Restored mid-century A-frame architecture softened by Shaker peg rails and American Clay walls.
Listed
Woodfired pizza made with neighbouring farm ingredients, served beneath towering Catskills spruce trees.
What they say
Michelin Selected
Michelin
Pflug studiously avoided Sixties furniture and design, letting the lodge’s mid-century architecture contrast with warm, organic-feeling Shaker-inspired interiors.
Tucked away
A place apart: the property is the destination.
In Greenville on four forested acres, thirty minutes west of Hudson in the northern Catskills.
The rooms
Rooms skip televisions for Shaker peg rails, custom leather headboards, and crisp Brooklinen bedding.
Restaurant
Woodhouse Pizza / The Tavern
Thin-crust pizzas and natural wines are served at picnic tables under shade sails on the gravel patio.
At the table
A brick fireplace warms the high-ceilinged hall beneath wheel chandeliers, and drinks are poured at the rear bar.
How it began

The lodge was originally Birmann's Rainbow Lodge, a 1962 motor inn that designer Megan Pflug and her husband renovated by hand.
