What they say
Michelin Selected
Michelin
This 13th-century former working farm fits the landscape as though it never considered being anything else.
Somewhere quiet
Away from the crowds. Getting around takes intention.
Clearwell borders the ancient Forest of Dean, and the trails of the Wye Valley are a short drive away.
The rooms
Rooms keep their rough stone walls and timber beams, and bathrooms have deep roll-top tubs and monsoon showers.
The shepherd's hut
A shepherd's hut in the grounds holds a single treatment room for massages and facials using Bramley products.
The Restaurant at Tudor Farmhouse
A glass conservatory and two stone dining rooms serve five-course evening tasting menus and traditional afternoon tea.
At the table
Guests take pints of local cider and light lunches out to wooden tables on the gravel terrace.
How it began

Colin and Hari Fell left London careers in 2003 to revive the thirteenth-century farmstead and its historic cider house.
