Michelin
Also in Condé Nast Traveler.
Comprised of stilted houses and private bungalows made from eucalytpus, mud bricks, straw and locally sourced timber, the pousada sits squarely on the village’s main beach.
Right in the middle
Well-located: walkable to some things, a short ride to more.
Jericoacoara Beach sits directly out front, and the Sunset Dune rises beside the village's unpaved sand streets.

The rooms
Stilt bungalows stand three meters up on eucalyptus trunks, with carnaúba thatch, netted four-poster beds, and no televisions.
The pool
Bring a swimsuit.
Red ceramic tiles line the 19-meter lagoon pool, curving beneath coconut palms toward the beach.
The spa
Espaço Luma sets massage tables under draped bamboo in the garden, using warm vegetable candle wax.
At the table
Restaurante Vila K serves fresh local seafood under thatch, and tables spread across the sand by candlelight.
How it began

Windsurfer Marco DalPozzo founded the pousada in 1999, when Jericoacoara was still an isolated fishing village without electricity.
