Viroth’s Hotel, in a perfectly central location in Wat Bo, is an unlikely thing: not a colonial-style mansion but a dreamy example of New Khmer mid-century modernism.
Right in the middle
Well-located: walkable to some things, a short ride to more.
Wat Bo is a sleepy quarter within easy reach of Angkor Wat, just across the bridge from Siem Reap's town center.
The rooms
Rooms have dark tiled floors and vintage armchairs, and each one opens onto a private terrace.
The pool
Bring a swimsuit.
The 20-meter saltwater pool runs through the courtyard, lined with cushioned loungers beneath vertical living walls.
The spa
Three treatment rooms overlook an ornamental pond, offering traditional Khmer herbal compress therapies and botanical treatments.
Viroth's Hotel Restaurant
Tables sit inside a curved glass pavilion with a white spiral staircase, serving contemporary Khmer cooking.
Viroth’s Hotel has a clean, contemporary design that's part L.A. and part local, with rooms accented by gray Khmer tile floors, handcrafted rosewood railings, and the occasional indigenous objet or scarlet wall.
At the table
The poolside lounge serves Cambodian-inspired cocktails and tropical fruit juices across a slatted timber counter under ceiling fans.
How it began

Founders Viroth Kol and Fabien Martial started with a cafe facing Angkor Wat before opening the hotel in 2015.
