What they say
Michelin Selected
Michelin
A well run family business: A Black Forest inn with rooms in various furnishing styles, clean and well kept, a large sunbathing lawn and delightful surroundings.
Somewhere quiet
Away from the crowds. Getting around takes intention.
Herrenschwand sits over a thousand meters high, where quiet pasture paths lead directly into the Southern Black Forest trails.
The rooms
Suites in the timber pavilion look out over mountain meadows, while rooms in the main house keep simple country furnishings.
The pool
Bring a swimsuit.
The 50-square-meter indoor pool looks across rolling hills through wraparound glass, fitted with counter-current and massage jets.
The spa
Suspended loungers face the valley through floor-to-ceiling glass, set beside a Finnish sauna and an aroma steam bath.
At the table
The gastStuben serves seasonal multi-course dinners at table, and afternoons bring coffee with house-baked Black Forest cake.
How it began

The main house dates to an 1889 family farm, which the current owner's grandmother converted into a guesthouse in 1954.
