This luxury hideaway boasts 75ha of grounds with woodland and a natural beach…including a palace!
Tucked away
A place apart: the property is the destination.
Set on Hohwacht Bay, the 75-hectare estate borders two miles of natural Baltic beach alongside protected dunes and coastal nature reserves.
The rooms
Rooms and cottages occupy restored historic outbuildings and the central castle, featuring fireplaces, deep soaking tubs, and views of coastal treetops.
The spa and pool
Bring a swimsuit.
A heated indoor pool connects to the open air, flanked by daybed-lined glass conservatories and a bright fitness loft.
The saunas
Soak slowly.
Six saunas include an outdoor herbal salt cabin facing the forest, alongside a traditional hammam and Rasul mud suite.
Dogs stay too.
Restaurant Bootshaus
Fresh seafood and drinks arrive right on the dunes, with tables spread across an open timber deck beside the beach.
At the table
Inside the castle, Asian menus are served under historical murals. Downstairs, BAR 1896 mixes drinks in the vaulted cellar.
How it began

Founded in 1607 by the noble Pogwisch family, the estate castle burned down in 1895 and was entirely rebuilt within a year.
