Reclaimed timber lodge
Salvaged harbor timbers and stone fireplaces give the hotel the relaxed feel of an old-growth Northwest sporting camp.
“"A sophisticated surprise in a semi-rural setting," this Northwest-style lodge is in the wine country 20 minutes outside Seattle.”
What it’s good at
Notable
On-site kitchen gardens feed The Herbfarm's nine-course dinners paired with regional wines.
What they say
Michelin Selected
Michelin
Also in Condé Nast Traveler and AFAR.
The building, constructed from century-old salvaged timber, is worth admiring; more immediately satisfying, however, are the creature comforts, which include Frette linens, deep two-person whirlpool baths, and thermostat-controlled showers.
Tucked away
A place apart: the property is the destination.
Chateau Ste. Michelle sits directly across the road, and the tasting rooms of the Hollywood District are a short walk away.
The rooms
Stone fireplaces warm the rooms, and each opens onto a private patio. Bathrooms have deep soaking tubs framed in smooth soapstone.
Sauna and hot tub
A hydrotherapy hot tub and an outdoor cedar dry sauna sit in a secluded garden courtyard.
The spa and gym
Six slate-walled treatment rooms host massages and facials, and the fitness room stays open around the clock.
Restaurant
Barking Frog
A circular fireplace table warms the dining room, which serves seasonal Northwest dishes and Washington State wines.
A short walk from the Hollywood District is the Pacific Northwest–styled, rustic-chic, 84-room Willows Lodge—with stone-trimmed fireplaces and soaring ceilings, a spa, and complimentary loaner bicycles
At the table
Fireside Lounge serves cocktails around glowing patio fire pits, and garden pathways lead over to The Herbfarm.
How it began

The hotel takes its name from lumber baron C.D. Stimson’s lost hunting lodge, where Harry Houdini famously pinned playing cards to the rafters.
