Local architect Jean-Paul Gomis and London-based David Collins Studio handled renovations, reimagining the interiors with a minimalist sensibility and an earthy color palette.

The rooms
Oak parquet and boiserie paneling ground the bedrooms, and suites open onto private terraces overlooking the water.
The spa
Five treatment cabins use marine extracts and Grasse aromatherapy. The thermal area adds a Finnish sauna and a marble hammam.
The gym
Technogym cardio and weight machines fill the mirrored gym. Morning yoga and Pilates sessions head upstairs to the rooftop.

The rooftop dining room overlooks the Baie des Anges, serving Niçoise seafood and sushi beside a circular cocktail bar.

Businessman Domenique Leyraud built the property in 1848 to anticipate the railway, creating Nice's first luxury hotel.
