The house
HyattArt Deco palace
The hotel brings 1920s Riviera glamour into the present, setting social dining and pool life against the Baie des Anges.
“the Deco mood is alluringly communicated in the reception area by Wedgwood period pieces, streamlined paneling, and lots of cocoa-brown marble.”
What it’s good at
Notable
Curved lines and Mediterranean pastels reimagine Riviera glamour across the guest rooms.
Notable
Antoine Sartorio's 1929 Art Deco facade stands preserved on the Promenade des Anglais.
What they say
Michelin Selected
Michelin
Also in Condé Nast Traveler.
The Art Deco facade still stands, though everything behind it is brand-new, rebuilt in a sort of modern/Deco hybrid style.
Right in the middle
Well-located: walkable to some things, a short ride to more.
The Promenade des Anglais runs directly out front, and the flower markets of Cours Saleya are a short walk away.
The rooms
Soft Mediterranean pastels and rounded lines shape the interiors. Select rooms look straight out across the Baie des Anges.
The pool
Bring a swimsuit.
The heated indoor-outdoor pool sits on the third-floor terrace, surrounded by turquoise geometric tilework and sun loungers.
Sauna and hammam
Backlit Himalayan pink salt bricks illuminate the wooden sauna, and the curved hammam is finished in bronze mosaic tiles.
The gym
The 24-hour gym is fitted with Technogym machines and has a dedicated studio for Pilates Reformer sessions.
Zouzou Restaurant
The restaurant opens onto a terrace overlooking the Mediterranean, serving seasonal Riviera dishes beneath Art Deco stained glass.
At the table
A mosaic-tiled bar adjoins the pool terrace, pouring signature cocktails and champagne under striped awnings.
How it began

The original 1929 casino hosted Scott Fitzgerald and Josephine Baker before a 1990 demolition spared only the historic facade.
