What they say
Michelin Selected
Michelin
Today, the 173-acre domaine surrounding a 19th century chateau and its chapel is home to a boutique retreat with suites in both the castle and grounds, treehouses hidden in fairy-tale forests, and a dedicated wine pavilion for tastings and workshops.
Tucked away
A place apart: the property is the destination.
Vines from neighboring Pessac-Léognan estates border the property, and central Bordeaux is a thirty-minute drive away.
The rooms
Junior Suites occupy the stone towers, while stilted wooden lodges look out through the forest canopy toward the vines.
The sauna
The timber Finnish sauna looks straight into the surrounding forest through a large picture window.
The spa
Massages using organic Alaena botanicals take place inside a timber-lattice yurt with views directly into the woods.
Restaurant
Le Manège
The restaurant serves seasonal South-West cooking on a wooden deck shaded by canvas stretch tents.
At the table
Breakfast is served in the arched stone loggia, and the estate tasting room pours Pessac-Léognan vintages along a timber counter.
How it began

The estate began as a seventeenth-century monastic sheep farm before a Bordeaux shipowner built the turreted château in 1870.
