What they say
Michelin Selected
Michelin
Cappadocia’s cave-complex hospitality scene is here to stay, and foremost among your destinations should be the Exedra Hotel Cappadocia, whose craggy nooks and alcoves retain every bit of their fantastic, old-world appeal.
Somewhere quiet
Away from the crowds. Getting around takes intention.
The craggy Ortahisar fortress rises directly above the village, and quiet stone lanes lead out toward the Balkan Valley.
The rooms
Wood-burning fireplaces are carved into volcanic stone walls, and bathrooms have heated marble floors with polished copper basins.
The pool
Bring a swimsuit.
The heated outdoor infinity pool stays open year-round, looking directly toward the Ortahisar rock fortress.
The spa and gym
Treatment rooms are carved into subterranean rock for hammam rituals, and fitness machines sit within vaulted stone walls.
Chapel Restaurant
Candlelit tables sit beneath barrel-vaulted stone ceilings and painted frescoes inside this restored chapel.
Fresko Terrace Restaurant & Bar
An open terrace and glass-walled dining room overlook the fairy chimneys, serving Turkish classics beside a stone oven.
At the table
Tasting tables sit beside wine barrels in the cave cellar, and drinks are served under canopied stone courtyards.
How it began

Vahap and Sonay Tanrıverdi pieced the complex together over seven years, restoring abandoned cottages, three historic mansions, and a former chapel.
