InterContinental’s ongoing style upgrade continues with the unreasonably chic InterContinental Singapore Robertson Quay, a state-of-the-art luxury hotel with more than a little bit of boutique-hotel influence. It stands behind a sober façade of black glass, and its interiors are similarly unafraid of the darker end of the color palette;
Right in the middle

Paved promenades right outside the doors trace the Singapore River, connecting quiet residential quays to vibrant dining hubs and leafy cycling paths.
The rooms
Floor-to-ceiling glass frames the waterway, while smart compact layouts feature sliding bathroom screens, dark wood, and custom in-room cocktail kits.

Wood-fired pizzas and handmade pastas anchor the riverside terrace, alongside an Italian deli and an intimate cocktail bar.
Local studio Brewin Design Office solved the challenge of a peanut-shaped space by bookending a long teak counter with a bar at one end, and the main room on the other.
How it began
Developer RB Capital commissioned SCDA to replace the old Gallery Hotel, nodding to the quay's maritime warehouse heritage with blackened steel.
