What it’s good at
What they say
Michelin Selected
Michelin
Seven rooms is about as intimate as it gets, and as rooms, they’re remarkable — well-designed, individual, luxe but not ostentatious.
Somewhere quiet
Away from the crowds. Getting around takes intention.
Praia da Joatinga lies down the cliffside path, while the bustle of Ipanema is a fifteen-minute drive away.
The rooms
Each suite follows a distinct color theme, with private balconies and full-length windows looking out to sea.
The infinity pool
Bring a swimsuit.
The clifftop infinity pool looks straight out toward the Cagarras Islands, flanked by palm trees and sun loungers.
The garden pool
A second pool sits on the lower terrace, with striped banquettes and sunbeds positioned below the granite mountain.
At the table
Dinners center on a rotating three-course Menu Confiance, served al fresco on the terrace above the sea.
How it began
French hotelier François-Xavier Dussol fell for Rio and remade the 1968 residence with flea-market antiques and pop art.

The eight vibes
Design
Built around a vision. Even the door handles have a designer.

Cared for at every turn. The bath is drawn before you ask.
Local
It could only be here. You wake up knowing where you are.
Social
Where the city goes out. The bar is full and the night is young.
Heritage
A building with a story. Once a palace, a monastery, a station.
Wellness
You leave feeling new. Rest, sweat, soak and sleep like a stone.
Classic
The city grew up with it. Same rituals, same regulars, same bar.
Resort
A world of its own. Something to do from breakfast to nightcap.
The scene
Lively
Where things happen: restaurants, shops, people.
Central
Well-located: walkable to some things, a short ride to more.
Quiet
Away from the crowds. Getting around takes intention.
Secluded
A place apart: the property is the destination.
