LOUIS Hotel
Alpine-modern market house
Alpine-modern market house
It runs like an airy alpine lodge on the market square, trading heavy Bavarian decor for open fire and natural timber.
“floors and tables of oiled local wood, doors with woven rattan detailing, and a big natural stone fireplace in the lobby.”

Michelin Selected
Michelin
Also in Condé Nast Traveler and AFAR.
The rooms, especially, are lighter than the typical urban boutique fare, with spare, slightly bohemian furnishings in warm, earthy tones against a very plain background of white paint and wood floors.
Right in the middle
Well-located: walkable to some things, a short ride to more.
The front doors open directly onto Viktualienmarkt, Munich's historic food market. Marienplatz is less than a two-minute walk away.
The rooms
Walnut bed frames sit against white walls, and bathrooms hide underfloor heating beneath bevelled Paris Métro tiles.
The gym and sauna
A Finnish dry sauna with its own shower stall provides quiet recovery after a day in the city.
Restaurant
The LOUIS Grillroom
The first-floor dining room overlooks Viktualienmarkt, serving dry-aged entrecôte and seasonal vegetables under warm fabric lanterns.
Stylistically, it mixes the Baroque with the contemporary, complementing detailed stucco, French balconies, and walnut bed frames with luxurious Italian fabrics.
At the table
The Sparkling Bar mixes evening cocktails downstairs, and the seasonal roof terrace serves drinks looking across the old town.
How it began

The century-old building once housed a stamp shop and insurance offices before architects Hild und K remade the space in 2009.
