Mid-century mineral motel
The 1949 motel trades poolside parties for stillness, drawing lithium-rich geothermal water straight from the desert aquifer below.
What it’s good at
Notable
Mid-century motel architecture updated with Roman clay plaster and handmade reclaimed wood beds.
What they say
Michelin Selected
Michelin
It dates back in one form or another to 1949, which means it comes by its mid-century modernist vibes quite naturally; today its interior design leans more toward warm and organic colors and textures.
Somewhere quiet
Away from the crowds. Getting around takes intention.
Miracle Hill looks out over the Coachella Valley, and downtown Palm Springs is twenty minutes away by car.
The rooms
Televisions and phones are deliberately absent, leaving simple Roman clay walls and beds of handmade reclaimed wood.
The pool
Bring a swimsuit.
The courtyard pool sits under tall palm trees and a shaded pergola, looking out at the San Jacinto Mountains.
Spa and soaking tubs
Outdoor stone tubs fill beneath palm fronds, and two treatment rooms use organic Ghost Town Ranch botanicals.
At the table
Organic dishes and signature date shakes are served under woven lanterns on the courtyard patio.
How it began

Designer April Greiman and architect Michael Rotondi bought the 1949 motel in 1997, stripping away clutter to emphasize desert light.
