What it’s good at
Listed
The tenth-floor Panorama Bar serves gin cocktails beside an open terrace over Breitscheidplatz.
Right in the middle
Well-located: walkable to some things, a short ride to more.
Bikini Berlin sits just across the plaza, and the leafy walking paths of the Tiergarten are five minutes away.
The rooms
Rooms are compact and no-frills, keeping the focus on comfortable beds and views over West Berlin.
Dogs stay too.
How it began

The glass tower replaced the 1950s Schimmelpfeng-Haus, a commercial block that bridged Kantstraße and walled off Breitscheidplatz for decades.
