Hotel Schweizerhof belongs to the Michel Reybier Hospitality family, and like its siblings it combines haute-luxe comforts and boutique-hotel good looks in equally generous measure.
In a lively part of town
Where things happen: restaurants, shops, people.
The front doors open onto car-free Bahnhofstrasse, just steps from the main train station and lively village dining.
The rooms
Warm oak covers the walls and marble lines the bathrooms, accented with wooden hiking sticks and vintage mountain photos.
The pool and gym
Bring a swimsuit.
A 12-meter heated indoor pool sits beside two whirlpools, and the fitness room looks out on the gardens.
The saunas and hammam
An 85-degree Finnish sauna and a hammam steam bath sit steps away from a quiet relaxation room.
Dogs stay too.
At the table
Chefs bake wood-fired pizzas beside an open grill, and an illuminated onyx bar pours Japanese-inspired cocktails.
With his unique sensitivity to design, Reybier has transformed the historic Schweizerhof from a tired, lacklustre hotel to a thoroughly modern place offering luxury in the shape of extreme simplicity.
How it began

Built in 1982, the property was acquired by Michel Reybier in 2017 and thoroughly reimagined by Kristian Gavoille and Valérie Garcia.
