What they say
Michelin Selected

It takes a deft hand — perhaps, more specifically, a Scandinavian one — to create such unfussy rooms from a palette of pastel-colored walls and flower-print curtains.
Somewhere quiet
Away from the crowds. Getting around takes intention.
Royal Haga Park stretches along the water outside, and Vasastan's restaurants and art galleries are a short walk south.
The rooms
Shiny wood floors and antique-style writing desks fill the bedrooms. Bathrooms come stocked with Stockholm-made Byredo toiletries.
Restaurant
Restaurang Stallmästaregården
Dark wood ceiling beams cross the dining room, and morning buffets give way to refined Swedish home-style dinners.
A painstaking restoration and redesign has left the onetime farm still rustic and homey, true to its 17th-century inn background, while simultaneously infusing it with healthy doses of both midcentury and contemporary Scandinavian design.
At the table
Private dinners take over Queen Christina's wooden lakeside pavilion, and banquets unfold beneath the crystal chandeliers of the 1815 courthouse.
How it began

Queen Kristina celebrated Midsummer here in 1645, prompting the palace stablemaster to turn his farm into an inn.
