The Pinch Charleston
Charleston, South Carolina
Harleston Village
Vibe
Flickering lanterns and a cobblestone courtyard link restored Victorian buildings in the center of Charleston's bustling shopping corridor.
“Restored Victorian quarters”
Custom furniture, handmade ceramic lamps, and patterned wallpapers across restored Victorian shells and modern quarters.
Personalized service with pre-stocked kitchens, bespoke cocktail kits, and dedicated residential amenities in every room.
Preserved 1830s Victorian facades and the historic Lequeux-Williams House flank an intimate cobblestone courtyard.
At the corner of King and George Streets, right along the downtown shopping and dining corridor.
“two historic Victorian-era structures and one contemporary one have been joined together to create the Pinch, a 25-room luxury boutique hotel”
Rooms
Quarters balance floral wallpapers and velvet seating with full kitchens, custom ceramic lamps, vintage rugs, and in-unit laundry.
Wellness
A single-room spa buffered by silken clay walls offers custom massages and restorative body therapies.
“every single room boasts design finesse: handcrafted furniture, artistic lighting (bunched linen pendant shades), pinched stoneware in the kitchen, wood-fired ceramics, hand-painted accent wallpaper”
Backstory
Two 1830s Victorian structures and the neoclassical Lequeux-Williams House were meticulously unified around historic Ellis Alley in 2022.
“All the cozy rooms feature handcrafted furniture, high-end statement lighting, decorative ceramics, hand-painted wallpaper, vintage woven rugs, and cocktail kits to complement the well-stocked minibar.”

The app
This is one hotel. The app has every one we rate, in your pocket, for the whole trip.
Our shorthand
What makes a hotel special, how well they pull it off, and what it feels like outside the door.
How well they pull it off
Extremely rare. Sets the global standard.
Brilliant execution. And we’re picky.
They did this well. You’ll notice.
A defining trait. Makes the hotel what it is.
The eight vibes
Architecture and interiors lead. There’s a creative vision at work.
The guest is conspicuously well cared for. Requests met before they’re made.
Rooted in place. Local character runs through the whole stay.
Energy and scene. Where the city goes out, whether or not it’s sleeping here.
A building with history. The story of the place is part of the stay.
Built around feeling better. Rest, sweat, soak, spa.
A hotel the city grew up with. Same rituals, same regulars.
A world of its own. No reason to leave the property.
Scene — what’s outside the door
Where things happen: restaurants, shops, people.
Well-located: walkable to some things, a short ride to more.
Away from the crowds. Getting around takes intention.
A place apart: the property is the destination.
