Bohemian motor inn
A reimagined 1958 motor inn wraps around an open-air courtyard pool, swapping traditional Lowcountry formality for breezy beachside ease.
“The Ryder channels that. There’s synchronicity here, in that the hotel is a top-to-bottom renovation of a 1958 structure”

Also in Condé Nast Traveler and AFAR.
Rooms are stylish, decorated mostly in white and light wood, and carefully balance visual minimalism with the warmth contributed by organic materials.

Well-located: walkable to some things, a short ride to more.
Meeting Street runs right outside the door, with King Street shopping and the historic City Market a block away.
The rooms
Pale wood carpentry and custom woven rugs keep interiors airy, and bathrooms glow with sea-glass penny tiles.
The pool
Bring a swimsuit.
The second-floor pool is ringed by cabanas and daybeds, with water jets splashing across the turquoise surface.
Bar
Little Palm
Gingham umbrellas shade rattan chairs beside the green-tiled bar, where bartenders mix low-ABV spritzes and tropical cocktails.
The 91-room boutique hotel was designed by local firm Cortney Bishop Design and features earth tones and coastal-inspired details like natural wood headboards and rattan furniture.
How it began
