Our shorthand ↗
Widder Hotel, vibe
“Cobbled together from eight medieval townhouses… the Widder′s traditional exterior gives away no hint of the ultramodern interiors inside.”
— Michelin

Rooms

Individually configured layouts pair museum-grade art and mid-century classics with heated oak floors, floor sensors, and Italian marble baths.

“Composed of nine medieval townhomes ingeniously joined together through modern passageways, the Widder balances impossibilities in style.”
— Forbes Travel Guide

Wellness

A wood-paneled basement gym offers around-the-clock TechnoGym equipment, while boat shuttles connect guests to a sister spa on Lake Zurich.

“Its cobblestoned setting puts you within strolling distance of the Kunsthaus and the city’s best boutiques, yet the 49 individually designed rooms...”
— Condé Nast Traveler

Backstory

Named after the medieval butchers guild, the hotel took architect Tilla Theus a decade to stitch together from nine historic townhouses.

“the results are jaw-dropping, from the unusual structures such as circular rooms and passages that refer architecturally to a Roman well uncovered during construction”
— AFAR

Eat & drink

The two-Michelin-starred Widder Restaurant serves inventive multi-course menus, while the legendary bar pairs live jazz with over a thousand spirits.

The neighborhood

Set on cobblestoned Rennweg in the historic Altstadt, the hotel sits steps from Lindenhof hill and the boutiques of Bahnhofstrasse.
